Tradition and Modernity – Heritage and Evolution
Founded in 1948, Utasellátó became a well-known brand during the 60’s and 70’s, famous for its dining and sleeping car services, station kiosks, vending machines and mobile catering. The iconic winged logo, which appeared on the uniquely wrapped goods is still widely recognized. In its golden age, passengers on long-distance buses, boats and planes, as well as visitors to the Parliament and the Hungaroring, were all familiar with the legendary brand.
Utasellátó today:
In the decades following the change of regime, on-board catering remained the property of MÁV, and since 1 June 2020 Utasellátó has been operating as an independent directorate of the MÁV Group. Our mission remains clear: to deliver sustainable, modern and high-quality catering services – on board and at stations alike.
With a continuously evolving menu and a passenger-focused approach, we strive to make your railway journey not only a transport, but a memorable experience – across Hungary and beyond.
