Onward travel options in Croatia
  • To Šibenik, please leave the Adria InterCity at Perković, where a passenger train will depart on weekdays (available for departures from Hungary between Sundays and Thursdays) after a one-hour transfer. On weekdays, a return passenger train departs from Šibenik in the afternoon, from where you can change to the Adria InterCity in Perković or Knin. Exact timetables and tickets for passenger trains can be found at www.hzpp.hr.
  • For the quickest way to Trogir, we recommend getting off at Kaštel Stari station, from where you can take a taxi to your destination. Another option from Split is to take bus no. 37, with the most convenient transfer being at Split predgrađe station (the last stop before the terminus). More information can be found at www.promet-split.hr.
It is also a good option to take the train all the way to the terminus, Split main station, from where it is a comfortable and short walk into town to the Bura Line boat station. For more information about the boats, please visit www.buraline.com.
  • Ferries to Brač, Hvar, Komiža, Korčula, Lastovo and other Croatian islands, as well as to Ancona in Italy, will depart directly from the port right opposite the train station (very easy walking distance), with timetables and ticketing information available at www.jadrolinija.hr and www.snav.it.
Onboard Services

Everyone will find a service that suits their needs and budget, and always to a high standard.

For families and groups of friends, our couchette cabins with up to 6 beds offer affordable, yet comfortable and safe sleeping accommodation. Private cabins can also be booked for exclusive use of less than six passengers travelling together.
Couples and small families can enjoy a special rolling hotel room experience in the sleeper cabins with up to 3 beds.
All passengers are served mineral water in the evening and hot drinks and breakfast in the morning. Sleeper coach class passengers are invited to choose from a variety of complimentary breakfast menus, which can also be enjoyed in the dining car.
All our cabins are air-conditioned, with power sockets available in sleeper and couchette cars.
Coach attendants are at your service throughout the journey to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers.

This year, MÁV – Hungarian State Railways will also be operating seating coaches in addition to sleeper and couchette coaches. We recommend seating coaches to passengers who do not primarily seeking relax but rather to experience a shared, social journey at the best available price. Private cabins with exclusive occupancy of less than 6 people traveling together can also be booked for the seating cabins.

No need to leave your pet at home either! Dogs are welcome in the seating coaches, upon a reservation of a private compartment plus a small fee of €9 per dog. Private cabins for the seating coaches can be booked either at jegy.mav.hu or at most international ticket offices, but the number of cabins available is limited. Additional dog tickets can only be purchased at the international ticket offices of MÁV and GYSEV and also on board the train (only in possession of a pre-booked private cabin, see the possibilities above). A private compartment can accommodate up to 6 passengers and the maximum number of dogs is up to the owners’ discretion, as long as they do not disturb other passengers and can be safely handled by their owners.

A Dining Coach is available throughout the journey, serving hot dinner and breakfast and a wide choice of drinks. The dining car is also a great place for late-night socialising without disturbing sleeping passengers.

Passengers without a valid reservation are not permitted to board, not even in possession of a validated Interrail/Eurail Pass. No travel on the corridor, in the washroom, etc. and no excess passengers allowed for safety reasons. If you are unable to book a train, that practically means the train is already full and therefore you are kindly advised to consider alternative travel dates or other connections

The number of seats on the train is limited, and in most cases, they are sold out well before departure. Passengers wishing to board the train without a pre-booked ticket or reservation, may be denied to board due to the train being full. Once you have a ticket for a given date and train, it cannot be used on later/earlier departures. For the best prices and guaranteed places, it is advisable to purchase tickets as far in advance as possible and to look for weekdays, and dates in June or September.

You are kindly asked to book your reservation well before you travel.
