Whether you are flying to Budapest or rolling in from Vienna to the largest club football event, we have mapped out everything you need to know for a seamless, fast, and unforgettable match day journey to the Puskás Aréna.
- Between May 29th and 31st, all UEFA Champions League Final ticket holders enjoy complimentary travel on MÁV Group’s regional lines within the administrative boundaries of Budapest. Simply show your match ticket and ride!
- Jointly operated by MÁV and ÖBB, these international trains offer reclining seats, generous luggage space, power outlets on most carriages and on-board information in multiple languages making the trip convenient even for travellers unfamiliar with the Hungarian railway system. Advance fares on some departures start from approximately €13, but the cheapest tickets are limited in number and usually sell out for busy dates, so it is best to book as early as possible.
- For purchasing tickets and planning your travel, the official Hungarian ticket portal and the MÁV mobile app are the best options both of which accept international cards and deliver mobile or printable tickets that you can show on your phone. For such a high‑demand event as the Champion’s League final, it is essential to have a seat reservation when you buy your ticket — this reservation guarantees a specific seat, helps to keep groups together and avoids the risk of standing on a crowded train.

- From Ferihegy train stop, we provide a lightning-fast connection straight to Zugló train station. From there, the Puskás Aréna is just an easy, 2-stop ride on Tram No. 1, or a short, vibrant walk.
- To guarantee a smooth journey even during peak hours, MÁV Group is deploying additional trains: two high-capacity KISS double-decker trains will be stationed on standby at Vecsés between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, ready to roll out instantly if passenger traffic surges.

- Heading back to the airport after the final whistle? We have your late-night travel covered! To ensure a stress-free return to your flights, additional trains (KISS double-deckers) will run directly from Budapest-Nyugati railway station straight to Ferihegy stop. These special night-owl services will stop at Zugló and Kőbánya-Kispest along the way, providing a convenient 30-minute frequency across this vital route during the night: Budapest-Nyugati departures: at 11:10 PM, 12:10 AM, 12:40 AM, 1:10 AM, 1:40 AM and 2:10 AM
- We will have multiple unit trains with staff ready at all three main Budapest stations from 6:00 PM on 30th May until 6:00 AM the following morning.
If you plan to stay in Hungary for several days, download the MÁVPlusz app (mavapp.hu/letoltes) and purchase a Pest County Pass or a Hungary Pass, which is also valid on BKK routes in Budapest
